Tuesday Takeaways is a four-part lunch and learn series! These one-hour educational lunchtime sessions are geared towards sharing updates and relevant information with our NF community.
For our second session, we’re excited to welcome Dr. Rebecca Brown—Assistant Professor in the Department of Neurology at Mount Sinai Hospital in NYC. She aims to address the following questions: Is it true that skin bumps (skin neurofibromas) in neurofibromatosis type 1 (NF1) start growing because of puberty? Does pregnancy cause more bumps to grow? What about hormonal birth control? Is it safe to take gender affirming hormones? These questions do not have easy or direct answers. Tune in to hear NF expert Dr. Brown dissect the evidence (or lack thereof) for how hormones affect tumors in NF1.
Please join us for any or all of these sessions taking place at 12pm via Zoom on one Tuesday of each month (September through December).
